You+Me= Community
If you know nothing else about me, know this, I am big on support. I don’t know where it comes from, but I think that if you are privy to someone’s dream, then that means you have been selected, chosen to witness and share in helping birth someone’s ideas. When they come to you, they are letting you in on both their hopes and their fears, and if you have been chosen, know this if you know nothing else, having your support makes a difference.
I wouldn’t be surprised if many of y’all don’t know the actual dictionary definition of community, but it means having a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, goals.
This is a good thorough definition, but what the definition fails to emphasize is that community connects us. Community brings us closer together and allows us the chance to invest in the people who matter to us, and this is how I choose to live my life.
This year marks my 22nd year teaching, wow, that is a long time. During this time, I have had the pleasure of getting to know some pretty amazing young people, many of whom have become friends of mine, or to maintain the focus of this post, they have become a part of my community, and I love that.
Nour always knows how to capture the best of me.
That’s why when I started my blog and needed a photographer, I reached out to my former student Nour who was just getting started with her photography business. It made sense to me that if I needed a photographer that I should reach out to someone I knew, someone who was already a part of my community, and I never regretted my decision. Nour did more than take my pictures, she captured my thoughts and brought them to life for me to share my creativity with y’all my community of dreamers.
The same can be said about my decision to choose Danae, also a former student, to create my new website. I had tried Blogger and WordPress Presets before, but I wanted something that had been designed with me in mind, and who better to make that happen than Danae? Danae sat with me one on one, and she helped me hone in on developing a brand that represents me, and I love the outcome.

Thanks to Nour and Danae, I get to share how I STYLE my life with y’all, and now I want to return the favor.
Recently Nour, Danae, and I met up to celebrate community and dreams, and it made me realize that just how important it is to we support one another as we work to bring those dreams to life. Nour, has decided to open her own macaron business, and trust me, y’all, the girl has skills. She’s an artist. Her macarons are delicious and beautiful. Her company, Le Petit Amour (Little Love) is a market + pop-up shop bakery, specializing in the French macaron! Nour says that macarons are guilt-free, and delicately flavored, and I believe her.
Nour made these delicious apple butter macarons for our dream session, and they were delicious.
And Danae, founder, etc. (doer of all the things) at Aspiring Co., a media company here to remind us to chase our dreams relentlessly and to inspire us when we feel like giving up, is an amazing creative with the ability to help give your dream wings. Danae is such an inspiration because she understands how Dreamers think, so she can relate to the many fears and doubts that we have to overcome or confront on our way to pursuing our dreams. I know because she did all of these for me when it came to bringing my website to life, but what I love is that she is doing that for herself as well with her new tabletop book Almost Finished. Danae is an awesome Dreamer, and I cannot wait to get my hands on her book.

Y’all, I am inspired to inspire, and I could not be more proud than to share with you two women, former students of mine, who are trailblazers, and who continue to chase their dreams, and even though I taught them years ago, they continue to allow me to be a part of their journeys.
With that being said, I am happy they are a part of mine.
Y’all, I am not only a Dreamer, I’m also Believer, and not to be trite or to quote Whitney Houston, but I do believe in you and me, and more than that, I believe that our purpose for being is to form a community to support others on their journey to finding their purpose and to making their dreams come, and that is what I am doing.
